Hard Landscaping

The repair, reinstallation and general maintenance of the boundary walls of Smallcombe Cemetery form a key part of the project. The lack of regular maintenance to the boundary and internal dividing walls over many decades has resulted in the collapse of some sections of the wall, with significant damage resulting from the unchecked growth of elder and other vegetation.  Considerable progress has been made on repairing the walls and and helping to make them safe.

The provision of a new pedestrian stile, with a short flight of stone steps, now facilitates access from the National Trust's Smallcombe wood above the north-east corner of the cemetery.
